This is a beauty of a quilt. Perfect for using up your scraps or planning a color scheme like Joan did in this version of her 92" x 116" Montana Memories Pattern.
In 1995, Better Homes and Gardens selected the Quilt Gallery and nine other top rated quilt shops across the United States to feature in their very first issue of Quilt Sampler magazine. Each shop was asked to design a quilt pattern and submit the finished quilt and pattern for publication.
Joan designed this quilt around the magnificent State of Montana. Big Sky Country is Montana's nickname and is depicted by the large feathered center star. No matter where you travel in Montana you will see log cabins dotting the landscape and Canadian Geese filling the skies. All were incorporated in the quilt.
So many years have passed since the Quilt Gallery was selected for the first issue of Quilt Sampler. Since then, we have updated this quilt with several new sets of colors and easier instructions.
We hope you enjoy making this mile-stone quilt as much as we did. Whether you use our fabrics, purchase one of our complete kits, or pick from your own stash we know this will become a family favorite.
