Prepared Edge Applique - A "Yes you can" class!

In this class students will learn prepared edge applique, the invisible applique stitch, colonial knot and the making of a bias stem.  Students can make a zinnia, daisy or cone flower.  Patterns can be drawn by hand or traced from a template.  It is more of a technique class, but can be finished as a completed art piece.  The invisible stitch is also ideal for sewing your bindings and sleeves onto a quilt.  The bias stem is the same technique as is used in Celtic designs.  The colonial knot is similar to a French knot, and is the knot used in candle wicking.  All these techniques can be carried on to other projects.  You will take home lots of valuable information from this fun class!

Instructor: Dawn Siden
Instructor Bio: Dawn Siden - A little about me: "My passion is quilting, and I?ll spend around 4 or 5 hours a day in my studio. I love trying new things; something unusual, or something I?ve seen somewhere and just have to try it. I?ve been quilting for around 20 years, and get most of my inspiration from attending major shows like AQS Paducah and IQA Houston. I try to learn from the best of the best. I love prepared edge appliqu?, paper piecing, hand embroidery, detail work, fine tuning, adding something extra, embellishing, color, and sometimes working very, very small. Oh yes, and I love bling!"
