We're known for the outstanding 5-day workshops we hold every year with some of the best known quilters in the industry. We love to give you the opportunity to learn firsthand from talented, sought after quilters. While online lessons are becoming so popular, there is nothing like a hands-on, one-on-one workshop with the instructor right there in the room to help you learn a new technique.
Quilt Gallery is a certified Dealer for BERNINA, HandiQuilter, and Juki. We offer guide classes on all machines purchased in shop, or if you have moved to the Flathead valley within one year of purchasing a Bernina machine from another shop and want to transfer your warranty etc. If you are beyond the one year warranty, we can still give guide classes for a fee set by Bernina Corporation.
Joan, Quilt Gallery's owner, discovered her passion for quilting after receiving multiple degrees in Animal Husbandry,(to raise Musk Oxen for their quiva), Food & Nutrition, and Home Economics. She opened the Quilt Gallery in 1983 with the goal of creating a shop that would supply just about everything her customers would need. Having been in business for 30 years, Joan has seen many employees come and go including several who have moved on to start their own successful businesses like Judy Niemeyer of Quiltworx, and Sheryl MyCroft of Random Threadz.
Today, the Quilt Gallery still has a very talented staff who are knowledgeable in many areas of the quilting world including Traditional, Modern, Primitive Wool, Hand & Machine Applique´, Machine Embroidery, Digitizing, Long Arm Quilting and more. Always inspired by new ideas and innovative quilting techniques, Joan loves to share her wealth of knowledge with anyone who cares to learn. She feels it is important to provide a learning environment that encourages the creative experience and offers fun, informative hands-on classes for all ages which are taught by herself and/or staff.
One of Joan’s favorite expressions is “Life is too short, just DO it”! This applies to everything Joan does whether she’s riding her 100th Anniversary Harley Davidson Ultra Classic, bungee jumping in New Zealand, or creating her next ribbon-winning original quilt.
